Design-led hotel The Mayson will open in the Docklands area of Dublin this December.

The 94-room property consists of two protected buildings in the city’s North Wall Quay – a traditional dockers pub, and a 19th century timber warehouse.

According to the hotel, the buildings have “sewn together”… “restored, reinterpreted and beautifully modernised in all the right places while preserving their industrial character”.

Features include rooftop restaurant Ryleigh’s, The Mayson Bar serving cocktails and an all-day menu, a coffee hatch serving Dime coffee, and “a boutique barber shop set in a traditional pub, The Bottle Boy”.

There will also be a gym (called Power), as well as a thermal suite and pool, located two floors below ground level.

According to a report by The Irish Independent earlier this year, around 40,000 people now work in Dublin’s regenerated Docklands, with this figure set to double in the next two years.

The Mayson is located close to the 13,000 capacity 3Arena, and across the River Liffey from performing arts venue The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, and The Maker Hotel (which is set to become the first Anantara property in urban Europe next year).
