Lufthansa flights are set for disruption later this week, with the union representing cabin crew calling for industrial action on Thursday November 7 and Friday November 8.

The 48-hour strike will affect all departures from Germany, and is part of an ongoing dispute over pay and pensions, which saw industrial action take place last month.

Lufthansa posted the following message on its Twitter page (translated from the original German):

“Strike on 7 and 8.11: Lufthansa strongly condemns Ufo’s strike call and will examine legal action against it. We apologize to all passengers concerned for the inconvenience. Currently we are working hard on a special timetable.”

UFO’s deputy chief Daniel Flohr is quoted by Reuters as saying:

“Just as with the last warning strikes the whole company will be affected by this new dispute. We are pointing out to our colleagues and customers that further announcements are possible at any time.”
