Newcastle airport has announced plans for a third executive lounge, scheduled to open in time for summer 2020.
The “luxury” facility is being designed by North East-based company Ward Robinson, and will offer space for 100 guests.
Features will include “an upmarket bar area”, and dedicated working zones with desks, charging points and “super fast wifi”.
The lounge will be available to pre-book via the airport’s website or the NCL Airport app from January 2020.
Commenting on the news Nick Jones, CEO at Newcastle International Airport, said:
“Airport lounges are becoming increasingly popular, and with the introduction of this new premium lounge in summer 2020, this will ensure we are satisfying customer demand.
“We are working closely with the designers to create a high-quality facility that responds to a range of customer requirements including our business customers, with super-fast wifi and a dedicated working zone.
“Customers will be able to enjoy panoramic views of the runway, with an excellent range of food and drink on offer – we look forward to unveiling more information in the coming months, including the name.”
The new facility will join two existing lounges at the airport – an Aspire Lounge, and a British Airways facility.
