This Diwali season, Emirates is serving a range of sweet treats onboard its flights to and from India, as well as in selected airport lounges worldwide. Traditional Indian sweets and savoury meals that are synonymous with the festival will be available from October 25, 2019 to October 31, 2019.

Economy class passengers on Emirates will able to enjoy motichoor laddu (sweet gram flour balls) garnished with silver leaf and pistachio. Likewise, passengers onboard first and business class will be served dry fruit tribhuj (fudge) along with motichoor laddu.

Festive dishes at Emirates lounges in Dubai, Delhi, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Kuala Lumpur will be offered on October 27, 2019. While passengers at the Emirates lounge, Delhi International Airport can enjoy an assortment of Indian cashew sweets, along with motichoor rabri (a condensed milk dessert) topped with pistachio nuts; those at the Emirates lounge, Dubai International Airport will be served mini dal kachori (lentils in a crispy-fried shell) and mini punjabi samosa (potato in a fried shell). For dessert, the lounge will serve angoori rabdi (a sweet made out of condensed milk) paired with motichoor laddu.

Passengers at the Emirates lounge in Cape Town International Airport and O.R. Tambo International Airport can enjoy jalebi (a saffron dessert), along with barfi (a milk-based sweet ), and nankhatai (shortbread biscuits).

At the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the Emirates lounge will serve biryani (rice mixed with gravy) with fried raisins and nuts. The lounge will also serve chapati (flatbread), paired with sweet and sour spicy roasted pumpkin, in addition to chicken curry with sweet potato.

The sweet treats will be complemented by a variety of Bollywood movies and TV shows on the carrier’s inflight entertainment system, ice.
