Marriott International is ready to debut its Luxury Collection brand in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The hospitality brand has signed an agreement with Assila Investments, a developer based in Saudi Arabia for this property which is set to open in 2020.

The Assila Hotel is located on the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz (Tahlia) Street, and is just 5km away from the planned New Jeddah Downtown waterfront development project.

The hotel will feature 210 guestrooms and 94 apartments including the 590 sqm Royal Suite.

Guests will be able to choose from multiple dining options including a Café Lounge along with Argentinian and Mediterranean specialty restaurants.

Focusing on the MICE aspect, the brand will offer a ballroom and nine meeting rooms. Some recreational facilities include a fitness centre, a spa and squash courts.

Speaking about the agreement, Bader Alissa, chief executive officer, Assila Investments said, “We are thrilled to have Marriott International manage the beautiful Assila Hotel, under the Luxury Collection brand. This only affirms Assila Hotel’s position as a premier luxury hotel in Jeddah.”

Adding to this, Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director, middle east and Africa, Marriott International said, “We are delighted to announce plans for the first Luxury Collection property in Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with Assila Investments. This deal signing supports our plans to further diversify our footprint in the Kingdom while enhancing our overall luxury portfolio in the region.”

Marriott International is currently operating more than 30 luxury hotels including The Ritz-Carlton Riyadh and The Ritz-Carlton Jeddah in the middle east.
