Further expanding its network in Saudi Arabia, Indigo has added Riyadh as its second destination in the middle eastern country. The Interglobe aviation-led low-cost airline inaugurated the service between New Delhi and Riyadh on October 12, 2019. The budget carrier also flies between Delhi with Jeddah.

New flight schedule:

Flight No Departure Arrival   Time of Departure Time of Arrival Frequency
6E 1839                  Delhi Riyadh 1215 1500 Daily
6E 1841                  Riyadh Delhi 1600 2325 Daily

Commenting on this new launch, William Boulter, chief commercial officer, Indigo said, “This is an exciting time for us as we step in the capital of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Riyadh being the commercial and political centre, holds immense potential for trade between the two countries and attracts heavy tourism for its local market place, museums, and heritage sites that signify KSA’s history.

These routes will not only enhance mobility, but also be a significant step towards promoting trade, tourism and social cohesion between the two nations”.

Meanwhile, Indigo is also celebrating the addition of a new A321neo aircraft to its fleet. Interestingly, the aircraft marks Airbus’ 1,000th A320neo family aircraft delivery. The delivery was by CDB Aviation, a wholly owned Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing company.

Elaborating on this new addition, Ronojoy Dutta, chief executive officer, Indigo, said, “We are delighted to add another A321neo in our fleet as we continue to expand our domestic and international operations.

“The A320 family has enhanced the cost and fuel-efficiency in Indigo’s operations and will strengthen this proposition in future, as we aim to build the best air transportation system in the world. I would like to congratulate the Airbus team for delivering their 1000th aircraft. Airbus has been our partner since Indigo’s inception and as we expand, we wish to continue this journey together, achieving more such milestones.”
