The Oberoi, Mumbai recently hosted Michelin-starred Chef Marcel Ravin at its popular Italian restaurant, Vetro. The special culinary showcase was held from September 26 until September 29, 2019 and featured dishes inspired by Chef Ravin’s travels across the Caribbean islands and the Southern sea.

The menu was available as a Lunch Menu Du Jour comprising a three-course tasting menu upwards of ₹2,500 and dinner included a four-course chef’s gourmand menu starting from ₹4,500. Complementing the meal was a selection of classic wines curated by the in-house sommelier.

Chef’s gourmand menu was made up of some interesting appetisers, entrées, main course options and desserts highlighting flavours of Monaco. On the appetiser menu was slow cooked egg with truffle and passion fruit, which is one of the signature dishes of the chef. A fresh and vibrant vegetable salad was also available.

Guests got to choose from two entrées that highlighted chef’s culinary extravagance. These include lentil risotto with dried fruits and creole starters.

Next on the menu were three impressive main course dishes — Iodised celeriac in a salt crust seaweed; red snapper confit with fish stew and West Indian condiments and lamb chops with green vegetables, sweet potatoes and pomegranate quinoa.

Desserts on offer were chocopassion made with chocolate and passion fruit and crisp meringue with mango, pineapple and garam masala.
