Intercontinental Hotels Group has announced the latest signing for its upscale Voco brand.
IHG will rebrand the existing Millennium Madejski Hotel Reading (situated next to the home of Reading Football Club) as the Voco Reading by the end of the year, following a management agreement with Srivikorn Group.
According to IHG the 201-room property “will be transformed to offer an unstuffy and exciting new hotel experience for guests, with each guest experiencing Voco’s signature ‘come on in’ warm welcome”.
According to the Millennium Hotels website, facilities at the property include a swimming pool, sauna, gym, a brasserie restaurant, Atrium Bar, and four meeting spaces accommodating between 12 and 66 guests.

IHG said that Voco is currently “the fastest growing new brand in the IHG portfolio”, with the goal of adding 200 properties to the brand over the next ten years.
Commenting on the news Jon Colley, head of development, UK and Ireland, IHG, said:
“We’re excited to announce the signing of Voco Reading. The momentum of Voco is proving to be a great success in the UK following the recent openings of Voco Cardiff St David’s, Voco Solihull and Voco Oxford Thames.
“This signing also sees us continue to grow our Managed estate, which is a priority in our home market. IHG currently manage 18 properties and we’re looking forward to working with our partners to expand that portfolio in the future.”
