The Asia-Pacific launch of the Family by JW programme was held recently at the JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa with a lineup of activities including a VIP insider tour of the resort, a ‘Come Together’ dinner featuring ancient family recipes, and ‘Mindfulness Mornings’ that included bike rides and meditative walks.

A live cooking demonstration was held at the Andaman Grill, where kids learnt to make their own mango and sticky rice pudding, and learnt about local produce and planting in the on-property garden. Steeped in the idea of reconnecting with nature, visits to Bang Pae waterfall, a mangrove forest kayaking trip, and Phuket’s Gibbon Rehabilitation Centre were also organised.

One morning, kids were also taught Ninja techniques by an experienced instructor and later, parents and kids also got to meet Australian swimmer and triple Olympic gold medalist Stephanie Rice for exclusive masterclasses at the South Pool. The closing feast featured a farm-to-table dinner comprising sustainable, locally-sourced fresh ingredients, and fire dance performers. jw-marriott.marriott.com
