Air India is gearing up to launch its non-stop service between New Delhi and Toronto on September 27, celebrated as “World Tourism Day”. To commemorate this special event, the flag carrier of India has introduced a new livery highlighting the rich culture and heritage of India.
As a part of this, the B777 aircraft, which will be deployed on the New Delhi-Toronto route, has been painted with pictures of Indian destinations. In addition to the images of landmark structures, the aircraft also features the airline’s motto of “Celebrating India” written behind the wings, above the windows.
An official announcement by Air India on Facebook says, “We are getting ready for inaugural flight to Toronto on World Tourism Day, 27 September 2019. The B777 aircraft scheduled to operate Toronto service has been painted with pictures of Indian destinations, to showcase the tremendous richness and variety of India #celebratingindia.”
The launch of this service between New Delhi and Toronto comes as a huge relief for frequent flyers shuttling between the two countries for leisure and business purposes. However, on this sector, Air India will be competing with fellow Star Alliance carrier Air Canada, who operates flights from New Delhi to both Toronto and Vancouver in Canada.
