Independent lounge operator Plaza Premium Group has opened its second lounge at Mactan Cebu International Airport in the Philippines.
Although the lounge is located within the restricted area at the domestic arrivals level in Terminal 1, it is only accessible to departure guests. The 3,000-sqft lounge facility is open 24 hours and can accommodate up to 80 guests. Guests arriving at the lounge will be first greeted by a hand-painted image of Cebu’s beach landscape at the reception. The interior design of the lounge, influenced by the Spanish colonial period, features traditional arch-shaped mirrors as well as Bankaray, a locally sourced wood material that is used as vertical planks.
Lounge guests have access to the shower facilities and recharging stations, as well as complimentary wifi, magazines, newspapers and TV channels. If guests only want to use the shower room, the lounge offers a shower usage rate of PHP500 (US$9.6) for an hour.
The lounge has a dedicated dining area, which offers mainly Filipino dishes. The main dishes are all made to order. In terms of beverages, guests can use the self-service coffee maker in the lounge or choose from a selection of tea. Soft drinks include Sprite, Coke and sparkling tonic water, while San Miguel Pale Pilsen is the only alcoholic beverage available in the lounge. There’s also a live cooking kitchen station in the dining area where lounge guests can watch the chefs preparing the dishes.
This is the second Plaza Premium Lounge at Mactan Cebu International Airport, with the other located at International Departures in Terminal 2 with a capacity of 120 guests. The 24-hour lounge offers food in a buffet-style setting and two shower rooms. Guests travelling with kids can also find the brand’s Playroom in collaboration with international toy brand Masterkidz, where kids can play with sustainably produced wooden toys.
