Accor has announced an agreement with real estate property group Proark to rebrand six Park Inn hotels in the UK under its Mercure portfolio.

The hotels are located in Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff, Bedford, Telford and Harlow, and will all be rebranded following refurbishment.

Three have already been reflagged – the 121-room Mercure Bedford Centre Hotel, the 153-room Mercure Telford Centre Hotel and 172-room Mercure Nottingham Sherwood Hotel.

The remaining properties – the 132-room Mercure Cardiff North Hotel, the 168-room Mercure Birmingham West Hotel and the 119-room Mercure Harlow Hotel are set to be rebranded by the end of the year, and are currently being marketed under their name, followed by the appendix “by Accorhotels”.

According to Accor “These Mercure hotels are being refurbished to a high standard and combine international standards of quality and service with a locally inspired look and feel”.

Commenting on the news Michael Brag, chairman of Proark said:

“We have worked closely with Accor since signing this portfolio of hotels and are extremely pleased with the result of the refurbishments.

“Each hotel has the Mercure service and features guests expect but they offer local touches too, which we are confident will be well received by business and leisure travellers alike.”

The six properties join around 100 Mercure properties in the UK, and over 750 worldwide, and leaves Park Inn with around a dozen UK hotels.
