Oyo has partnered with Mountania Developers, a partner company that has  acquired a 64-suite building near Ellis Bridge in Ahmedabad. The hotel will be operated under Oyo brand, thereby marking the hospitality service provider’s entry into the premium upmarket hotel segment. 

Commenting on the announcement, Aditya Ghosh, chief executive officer, India and South Africa, OYO Hotels and Homessaid, “We believe that our deep understanding of Indian consumers and trends coupled with our operational and technological capabilities will be a game-changer for us in the upscale segment. The building will undergo an exciting transformation to be completed later this year, post which we will formally open the doors to this hotel under a new brand name.”

Offering easy access to the airport, Oyo’s first upscale property is close to tourist attractions such as Sabarmati Ashram and Jaldhara Water World. The  wooden floored rooms are fitted with high-end amenities and are spread across categories such as Deluxe, Classic, and Presidential suite. For business travellers, the hotel will provide services such as complimentary airport pickup, mini-fridge and tea coffee maker and valet parking among others.

For meetings and social events, there are five banquet halls and a boardroom within the property. These will be operated under the Weddingz.in brand, which is owned by Oyo. The hotel also houses recreational facilities including a spa and a fitness centre.
