Indigo has announced daily direct between Amritsar and Sharjah. The new operations will start from October 1, 2019.

This is Indigo’s second flight from Amritsar connecting a UAE destination — the Indian low-cost carrier is also set to start direct flights between Amritsar and Dubai, this year.

William Boulter, chief commercial officer, Indigo said, “As Punjab government works towards increasing industrialisation and investment in the state, the direct connections with the UAE will not only enhance mobility but also promote trade opportunities between the two regions.

“As UAE finalises its plans for a mega food park in Punjab, increased connectivity will be an enabler for channelising the business potential into commercial opportunities. These connections will also strengthen Indigo’s presence in the UAE and the Middle East market.”
