Marriott is to introduce its extended stay Residence Inn brand to the Manchester market next year.

The existing property is currently operating as The Northern Quarters Serviced Apartments Manchester, and will be rebranded in late 2020 following refurbishment.

The 155-room hotel is located within walking distance of Manchester Piccadilly station, and features a mixture of one and two-bedroom apartments, all with kitchen facilities.

While the phased refurbishment takes place the property is operating 84 serviced apartments under The Northern Quarters brand.

Facilities will include lounge and breakfast space, as well as ground floor retail outlets.

The property will be managed by Cycas Hospitality, with Asli Kutlucan, chief development officer commenting:

“Whilst Manchester is already considered a gateway to the North, it’s clear from the continued investment into the city’s rail and international air connections that the potential for regional growth over the coming years is huge.

“We’re confident that the central location of our new Residence Inn property will tap into the growing demand for alternative accommodation options from business and leisure travellers, and look forward to working closely with Ciel Capital and Marriott International to further build our presence in this vibrant market.”

Marriott currently has four UK properties under the Residence Inn brand, in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, London Bridge and London Kensignton.

The brand recently opened its largest ever property, located in Calgary’s Beltline district. For a review of this hotel see:
