Best Western has opened the latest property under its boutique midscale brand Glo.
Glo Brooklyn is located at 850 4th Avenue in the Sunset Park area of Brooklyn, and features 81 rooms with signature gel-topped mattresses, complimentary wifi and American buffet breakfast, a fitness centre, business centre, and “a large meeting area to gather or network”.
The Glo brand was launched in 2015, and focuses on new-build properties offering “modern amenities, revolutionary architecture, stylish design and strategic use of LED lighting” – the last of these a pointer to the brand’s name.
Glo Brooklyn joins six existing hotels under the brand in Desoto (Texas), Ottawa, Asheville (North Carolina), Lexington, Nashville and Hollywood.
Commenting on the news Brad LeBlanc, senior vice president and chief development officer, said:
“Glo’s contemporary design perfectly reflects Brooklyn’s reputation as a lively neighbourhood with a pulse on forward-thinking trends.
“With its modern touches, Glo is a fantastic representation of how today’s Best Western is constantly innovating, providing our guests with new offerings and remaining a frontrunner in the hospitality industry.”
The Glo brand sits alongside Best Western’s Vib offering, which currently has three properties in the US, Turkey and Thailand.
This summer Best Western also added the first US property under it “modern suburban boutique brand” Aiden.
