ICONSIAM Superlux Residence has announced the launch of The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, a branded residential development in Bangkok.

The luxury residences are located within ICONSIAM, a multi-purpose complex by the Chao Phraya river which is home to designer shops, hotels, and restaurants.

Designed by award-winning Hong Kong interior designer, Joyce Wang, the 52-storey building with 146 residencies offers sweeping views of the city skyline and river.

The TBH 11 billion development ($355.9 million) offers the following room types:

  • Two-bedroom units ranging from 127.87 sqm to 165.40 sqm
  • Three bedroom units ranging from 222.21 sqm to 228.88 sqm
  • Penthouse units ranging from 380.93 sqm to 383.98 sqm
  • Penthouse duplex spanning 386.12 sqm to 707.28 sqm

“The ICONSIAM Superlux Residence Corporation Ltd and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group have formed a partnership that has delivered an exceptional result. Since this project began, we have strived to create a residence that acts as a beacon for Thailand on the global stage; a residence that showcases architectural, technological and design features of the finest quality,” said Keerin Chutumstid, president, property and service business group, MQDC Magnolia Quality Development Corporation, one of the three partners developing ICONSIAM.

“With exclusivity and status to rival the most sought-after developments around the globe, it is no surprise that only a limited number of residential units currently remain available to prospective purchasers.”

During the launch event on August 14, members of the press, including Business Traveller Asia-Pacific, were driven in golf carts from ICONSIAM to the hotel where they were greeted with a musical performance in the lobby before being taken on a tour of the three-bedroom units.

Bedrooms, bathrooms and the living room in the unit on display all offered unobstructed views of the city. The residences have long balconies that are accessible via the bedroom and the living room. One of the units had an additional separate kitchen, in addition to the regular kitchen, for residents who don’t want the smell of food dispersing to other areas of the unit while cooking.

Up next was a tour of the Sky Pavilion, an area located on the 36th floor with views overlooking the city, and amenities such as a library, communal seating, and lounges.

Tenants will also enjoy club house facilities such as an outdoor swimming pool, a golf simulator and virtual game room, private fitness and wellness studio, and a children’s playground. Lobby level facilities include The Chao Phraya Lounge for private events, and a lounge area called The Mandarin Gallery.

In terms of transportation, there is a pier close to the property that links the residence to some major ports in the city.  A new monorail line, known as the BTS gold line, is set to open sometime next year in the area.

The launch event also featured an opening dance show, including welcome speeches from management.

The property is the first residence run by Mandarin Oriental in Southeast Asia, and the hotel group’s seventh residential project in the world.
