Scandic Hotels has opened a 334-room hotel in Copenhagen’s Frederiksberg district.

The Stockholm-based group said the Scandic Falkoner is decorated in a “classic Nordic style” and also has a new restaurant, bar and gym.

Scandic will also run the adjacent Falkoner Center, which has two event spaces – the largest with a capacity of 3,000 – for conferences and concerts.

The hotel on the site was previously a Radisson Blu. The property has undergone a two-year renovation which has doubled its room count.

Scandic opened a 370-room hotel in the Copenhagen neighbourhood of Vesterbro in September 2018.

It says Denmark is one of its priority markets, and its website outline plans for four new hotels across the capital and the city of Aarhus.

One is 600 metres from Copenhagen Airport and is scheduled to open in 2021, while another will be a 632-room hotel in Vesterbro, the group’s biggest property to date.
