Passengers flying with Thai Airways between August 10 and 12 will enjoy special meals and desserts as the airline celebrates Thailand’s Queen Mother Sirikit’s birthday and Mother’s Day.
In 1976, Thailand’s Mother’s Day was changed to August 12 to commemorate the birthday of Queen Mother Sirikit.
The menu for Royal Silk Class Passengers (the airline’s business class product) traveling on outbound domestic flights features “Jasmine dessert and Steamed Butterfly Pea Rice with Thai Steamed Curry Fish and Young Coconut Stir Fried Pumpkin with Egg on outbound flights,” reads a press release from the airline.
Royal Silk passengers on inbound flights, on the other hand, will enjoy “Sai Yai Rak Jelly and Steamed Coconut & Pandan Rice Grilled Herb Chicken Sauce Stir Fried Mixed Vegetable”.
Economy Class passengers will be offered “Sampannee Jasmine dessert”. See below for a picture.
The desserts will only be served on August 12 on all flights, except passengers travelling on flight TG 226 from Phuket-Bangkok will not get to enjoy special meals or desserts. Thai did not say why the desserts were not being offered on this particular flight.
Passengers traveling on international flights will be served new desserts during lunch or dinner on all outbound flights departing from Bangkok on 12 August 2019.
The menu for Royal First Class passengers features “Garland-shaped Sung Yod Rice Thai Pudding with Coconut topping with Sung Yod Rice ice cream”.
Royal Silk Class passengers will be served “Cho Mook Da dessert”.
Economy Class passengers will be served “Sung Yod Rice Thai Pudding with Coconut topping”.
