Marriott has announced the opening JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District, thereby marking the hospitality brand’s 250th hotel in Canada.

Commenting on this new launch, Don Cleary, president of Marriott International’s Canadian operation said, “We are thrilled to be opening our 250th hotel in Canada as well as bringing our iconic JW brand to the city of Edmonton.

“Our 250th property underscores the importance of luxury to this market, and the tremendous opportunity for growth in Canada. Guests of the new JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District hotel can expect to be treated to uplifting experiences that showcase the local pride and warm spirit of Edmonton.”

JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District is designed keeping in mind the mental health and wellbeing of guests. The wellness facilities at the hotel include Spa by JW, Edmonton’s only full-service luxury hotel spa, and Archetype, a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

This 346-key Marriott property has partnered with restaurateur Oliver and Bonacini Hospitality for the culinary experiences. The F&B outlets include the fine dining restaurant Braven, cocktail bar Alchemy and an all-day dining restaurant, Kindred. Guests can also enjoy fine spirits and alcohol at the Lobby Bar.

The hotel boasts having 2043 sqm meeting and conference space including a 836 sqm ballroom for large gatherings. Additionally, right above the hotel is The Legends Private Residences comprising 262 high-end condominium units overlooking the cityscape.
