Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts has opened ANA Intercontinental Beppu Resort and Spa in Southwestern Japan. The launch of this new property forms a part of IHG’s robust expansion of luxury properties worldwide. 

Commenting on this new opening, Hans Heijligers, head of Japan, IHG, and IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan said, “On behalf of IHG and IHG/ANA Japan, we are extremely proud to open the first international luxury hot spring resort and spa in Beppu.”

Located in the Oita Prefecture, the resort features 89 rooms including ten suites. All suites and Club Intercontinental rooms comes with private open-air baths on the terrace overlooking the Beppu Bay.

To celebrate the opening of this property, the resort has curated a special package —  Beppu Luxury Collage that lets guests experience ancient Japanese art and culture. These include a demonstration and masterclass from local Shuji calligraphy masters and learning the art of bamboo weaving in addition to enjoying exclusive dining offerings.

The resort has five F&B offerings inspired by five Japanese elements — earth, water, fire, wind and void. There is Atelier for French and international cuisine; Elements for Japanese and western delights; The Bar serving a fine selection of whiskey and Japanese shochu and Aqua, the poolside bar. Guests can also enjoy an authentic afternoon tea experience at The Lounge. 

Additionally, the hotel, in partnership with luxury Thai spa brand HARNN, will  offer tailor-made treatments and therapies for guests to unwind and relax.
