Budget hotel chain Travelodge has opened two new UK properties, in Winchester and Letchworth Garden City.
The 62-room Winchester Travelodge, pictured above, is in the city centre near the cathedral.
It will feature 15 premium Super Rooms on a “business floor”. The group added the category in 2017 to target business travellers, with rooms featuring more stylish décor and amenities including extra plug sockets, mood lighting, an armchair, Lavazza coffee machines and mini chill cabinets.
The group will open another Hampshire hotel in Gosport at the end of year.
Letchworth Garden City Travelodge is a 73-room property with an on-site restaurant called the Bar-Café and free on-site parking.
Travelodge has eight upcoming Hertfordshire hotels, in Hertford/Ware, Hoddesdon/Broxbourne, Potters Bar, Radlett, Rickmansworth, Stevenage, Waltham Cross and Watford.
The company currently operates 583 hotels across the UK, Ireland and Spain.
In March it said it wants to open 100 hotels over the next five years, predicting strong long-term growth in the budget sector.
Shakila Ahmed, Travelodge, Spokeswoman said: “We are delighted to officially open our first hotels in Winchester and Letchworth Garden City and extend our UK network to 566 locations. Both hotels have got off to a flying start and are set for a busy year ahead.
“Britain’s travellers are changing. We expect more and increasingly we travel to a wider range of places.
“More and more of us are working away from home during the week, and we’re taking more long weekends.
“Travelodge now has to satisfy the needs of travellers who just want the essentials at a low price, and of those who also value the little extras. Therefore we’re focused on making sure we can offer travellers the right choice, in the right place, at the right price.”
The company has also launched a more upmarket Travelodge Plus brand.
