Hilton has announced plans for a major expansion of its Hampton brand across the EMEA region, following an agreement with franchise operator Alshaya Group.

The deal will see 70 Hampton by Hilton properties added in nine countries across the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and Russia.

The first is expected to open in Kuwait in 2021, with 50 set to be delivered in the next eight years, and a further 20 in the development pipeline.

Hampton by Hilton is the largest brand in the group’s portfolio, with nearly 2,500 properties in 27 countries. Signature amenities include free breakfast and wifi at all properties.

Commenting on the news Chris Nassetta, President and CEO of Hilton, said:

“We are delighted to reach this exclusive agreement with Alshaya Group, strengthening our partnership and further expanding our global Hampton by Hilton portfolio.

“Alshaya has been an important partner, particularly as we celebrate 100 years of pioneering the hospitality industry this year, and we look forward to working together to introduce travellers to Hampton by Hilton in these high-growth destinations.”

Recent Hampton by Hilton openings in Europe include the Hampton by Hilton Paris Clichy, and the Hampton by Hilton Frankfurt Airport.
