Airbnb has rolled out new custom search fields and results to help business travellers find the right property on work trips.

The group has launched a new “work trip toggle” as part of its Airbnb for Work service, which focuses search results on listings that are more relevant for business trips.

Users can view results based on social recommendations, including positive ratings from past business travellers.

Interestingly Airbnb said the new work trip toggle would provide details where hosts have indicated there are smoke and carbon monoxide detectors – one would have thought this information would also be of interest to leisure guests.

The group added that “Searchers will see and be able to book work-friendly places to stay, including entire homes, Airbnb Plus homes that are verified for quality and design, and boutique hotels”.

Airbnb for Work was first introduced in February 2018, as a business-friendly collection within the group’s listings, and has since expanded to include bookings of Airbnb Experiences for team-building activities, rental of homes or other spaces for corporate off-site events and meetings, and bookings of homes as temporary housing for employees who have relocated.

Airbnb says that over 500,000 companies worldwide use Airbnb for Work to manage their business travel.
