Skyteam will open its latest branded lounge later this year, within the new Istanbul Airport.
Business Traveller first reported on the lounge in February last year, and it had originally been scheduled to open by the end of 2018.
This date slipped – perhaps not surprisingly given the late, staged opening of the airport itself, and the lounge is now expected to open in the third quarter of this year, possibly as early as September.
Few details are available regarding the lounge’s facilities as yet, although as reported last year, amenities will include:
- Regional cuisine, freshly prepared using locally sourced ingredients, as well as international offerings. Examples include freshly-cooked Turkish meze and pide.
- Local beers and wines plus non-alcoholic beverages
- Natural light, power at every seat, a business area and showers. Hybrid seating providing personal space with privacy to catch up with work or unwind.
The Global Lounge Network has also published several photos on its Facebook page last month, showing construction underway.
