Hilton has opened the first hotel directly connected to Heathrow T2, under its Garden Inn brand.

The 369-room Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Terminal 2 was originally announced by the Arora Group in 2016, and is the 11th property by the group, joining hotels including the Hilton London Gatwick, Novotel London Stansted Airport, Holiday Inn London Heathrow T5, Renaissance London Heathrow, and the recently opened dual-branded Holiday Inn Express London Heathrow Terminal 4 and Crowne Plaza London Heathrow T4 development.

Rooms at the 14-floor Garden Inn property feature 55-inch HDTVs and free wifi, and facilities include 24-hour business and fitness centres, and five meeting rooms, the largest of which can accommodate up to 65 people.

Food and beverage options include The Apron restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Runway Bar (opening in August) with runways views. There is also a 24-hour shop for grab and go items.

Commenting on the news Simon Vincent, Executive Vice President and President, EMEA, Hilton, said:

“More than 80 million people pass through Heathrow every year , and we are delighted to offer guests a great accommodation option to make their travel journey that much smoother.

“Hilton pioneered the concept of the airport hotel back in 1959, so we are proud to be opening the doors to our second Hilton Garden Inn property at Heathrow as we celebrate our 100th Anniversary.”
