Airbus has shared a picture of British Airways’ first A350-1000 aircraft in flight.
On Tuesday evening the company tweeted:
The aircraft took off on 2 July at 1220 and flew for around six hours, according to Flight Global.
The aircraft is due for delivery this month, although an exact date has not been announced.
British Airways previously shared pictures of the aircraft being painted at Airbus’s Toulouse factory:
The A350-1000 is set for short-haul crew familiarisation flights to Madrid in August and September, before being rostered onto selected services to Toronto and Dubai from October, followed by Tel Aviv and Bengaluru.
British Airways has a total of 18 A350s on order, with four expected to be delivered this year.
It will feature the airline’s long-awaited new Club Suite product.
Virgin Atlantic also takes delivery of its first A350-1000 this summer, and will launch its new Upper Class product on the aircraft.
