Bellinis after boarding, mix-and-match menus and a hot towel service are coming to Delta’s economy product on international flights from November.
Passengers will get the free “Welcome Aboard” cocktails made from sparkling wine and peach puree shortly after take-off.
Hot towels will be brought around before a “bistro-style” meal offering featuring new dishes. It will include a selection of appetisers such as Harissa shrimp.
Dessert will be served separately after the main meal.
Shortly before landing there will be a second hot towel service, and Ghirardelli chocolates will be offered.
“This is about investing in every single customer who chooses Delta, no matter where they sit on the plane,” said Allison Ausband, Delta’s SVP for in-flight service.
Delta has recently unveiled new eco-friendly amenity kits and started trialling free in-flight wifi.
Last month the airline announced it would retrofit the B767-400s that operate several of its routes from the US to London Heathrow, introducing premium economy cabins and a customised business class seat.
