Hilton will bring its upscale lifestyle Canopy brand to the UK next autumn, with the opening of Canopy London City.

Canopy London City was originally set to open in 2018, but the Caterer reports it will now open autumn 2020 as part of the £76 million Minories development in Aldgate, which is still under construction. The development will also include an office building, pub and residential block.

Canopy London City will have 314 rooms, with interiors inspired by the hotel’s East End surroundings. Dining options will include a rooftop restaurant and a deli/café.

The hotel will be operated by RBH and owned by 4C Hotel Group, which already counts eight hotels in and around London including the Westin London City, due to open next year.

Hilton’s Canopy brand launched in 2014, and Hilton recently announced two new French properties under Canopy, as well as plans for a Venice opening.

Canopy London City will join the brand’s 13 other hotels across the US, China, Croatia and Iceland.
