Hyatt has opened the first hotel under its extended stay Hyatt House brand within Chicago’s city limits.

The 200-room property is located between West Loop and Fulton market districts, and features a top-floor indoor pool, lobby level H Bar, two meeting spaces, a fitness centre and 24-hour market.

Selected suite categories have full kitchens, and guests benefit from complimentary breakfast.

The regenerated West Loop area of Chicago is home to a growing number of restaurants, retailers and hortels, while Fulton Market is the location for McDonald’s recently opened global headquarters, as well as Google’s Midwest hub.

Commenting on the news Ripton Melhado, Vice President of Operational Strategy, Hyatt Place and Hyatt House, Americas, said:

“Chicago continues to experience record-breaking tourism, and we are confident Hyatt House Chicago / West Loop-Fulton Market will bring a new and dynamic guest experience to the marketplace, and is a great example of our continued focus on growing premium hotels that will attract business and leisure travellers alike.”

The Hyatt House brand was launched in 2012, and currently has a portfolio of over 90 properties across the US, China, Germany, Mexico, Turkey and Puerto Rico.

The first dual-branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt House property in Europe is set to open close to Paris CDG in 2020, and a 125-suite Hyatt House is also scheduled to open at Dallas Fort Worth next year.
