American Express Platinum and Centurion Card members can now check in to Centurion Lounges up to 30 minutes prior to their expected arrival using the American Express Mobile App.
Advance check-ins can be made via the “Find a Lounge” tool in the app, according to Amex.
“Once checked in through the app upon arrival, Card Members will provide their valid photo ID and boarding pass for an expedited interaction at the Centurion Lounge reception desk,” Amex said in a press statement.
“Through its partnership with LoungeBuddy on this new mobile app feature, American Express continues to show its commitment to being an essential part of Card Members’ digital lives and to offering a more convenient and efficient access experience when they visit any Centurion Lounge.”
The enhanced functionality springs from the company’s recent acquisition of LoungeBuddy, a mobile app and website that allows travellers to book lounge access worldwide. LoungeBuddy includes information on more than 1,200 airport lounges that Platinum and Centurion members can access through the American Express Global Lounge Collection.
However, the advance check-in feature currently is available only for Amex’s nine Centurion Lounges (plus, presumably, the six more slated to open in the coming months).
