According to a recent announcement by Bengaluru International Airport Ltd (BIAL), parts of domestic and international lounges and transit hotel at Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru have been closed for renovation. The new project is aimed at enhancing the passenger experience by optimising space utilisation and developing a strong F&B offering.

At present, the airport has four lounges — two at International Security Hold Area (SHA) and two at Domestic SHA. The refurbishment work will be carried out in two phases, spread across 18-20 months. The refurbished lounges will offer services and experiences such as live cooking, celebrity chef-curated menus, digital zones, library, spa, barista bar and wine cellar.

The new lounge operator is a joint venture between Gate Group and Travel & Food Services India.

Kenneth R, chief commercial officer, Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) said, “Our vision is to improve our lounge facilities to enhance the on-ground travel experience of our passengers and make the lounges at BLR Airport destinations in themselves. The new lounge concept is aimed at providing the ultimate hospitality experience, innovation, and perfect customer service.”
