Raffles Hotels and resorts continues to expand its footprint across the globe — the AccorHotels-owned brand recently launched two new properties, Raffles Shenzhen and Raffles Maldives Meradhoo. Commenting on this expansion, Chris Cahill, deputy chief executive officer, Accor said, “The Raffles collection now includes 14 properties across 12 countries, with a carefully curated list of distinguished addresses in leading markets around the world.

“With a storied history spanning more than 130 years, Raffles is currently experiencing a renaissance, with a robust project pipeline that will see the portfolio add an additional 8-10 hotels over the next few years.”

Set up on the top floors of a 72-storey tower in the One Shenzhen Bay complex, Raffles Shenzhen features 168 spacious guestrooms and a selection of serviced residences. Offering sweeping views of Shenzhen Bay and Hong Kong, the hotel boasts having a wide variety of dining venues. These include RUI Lounge, Sky Café, Long Bar, Kokoni and Yun Jing among others. Raffles Maldives Meradhoo, on the other hand, is located on the remote southern tip of the Maldives archipelago, and consists of 21 island beach villas and 16 ocean overwater villas. This is the first Raffles branded hotel and fourth AccorHotels’ property in the Maldives.

In addition to the new hotels in China and Maldives, Raffles is gearing up to add a number of new hotels, resorts, and mixed-use projects to its global portfolio. The highlight is the brand’s mega-debut in India with Raffles Jaipur and Raffles Udaipur, set to open 2022 and 2020 respectively.

Other projects include Raffles The Palm Dubai featuring 125 hotel rooms and suites and 359 branded residences; Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel and Residences with 147 rooms and 146 well-appointed residences; and Raffles London comprising of 125 rooms and suites, restaurants, spa, and 85 private residences.
