The iconic British carmaker entered the Indian market with its suave SUV Hector. Taking design cues from the world of aviation — inspired by the Lockheed F35 fighter jet — and pegs itself as India’s first “Internet Car”.

Boasting inbuilt 5G Internet and a suite of apps, this 48-volt hybrid is available in a diesel and petrol version, in both manual and automatic transmission versions. The engineers at Morris Garages Motor have ensured that this car is power packed with connectivity enhancements, a voice assistant that has been trained to understand the Indian accent, built-in entertainment apps, and pre-loaded content and many more features thanks to the iSmart platform.

Certain cabin enhancements make the Hector stand out — a panoramic sunroof, the 360-degree around view camera, rear seat recliner, high-speed USB charging points, and the flat rear floor. To operate the main systems of this Internet car, the 10.4-inch HD screen (in a vertical orientation), is a technological wonder.

MG Motor’s entry into India is an aggressive one with 120 sales and service points, with a projection to double this number in the next couple of months. This mid-sized SUV, owned by Chinese giants SAIC, will be manufacturing the Hector in India.
