OYO has announced the launch of OYO Reach— its CSR assistance programme. Currently, the hospitality giant has introduced this initiative in Shimla. As of a part of this, OYO  has equipped over 83 per cent OYO hotels in the hill station with rainwater harvesting systems.

The OYO reach programme will lead to an increase in the savings of 81,000 litres of waters for OYO hotels in Shimla.

With OYO Reach, the brand aims to provide technical and financial aid to OYO hotels across the country. Apart from this, the company will also focus on skill development, economic opportunity creation, and sustainable tourism.

Commenting on this, Aditya Ghosh, CEO, India and South Asia, OYO Hotels & Homes said, “Shimla has been grappling with water scarcity concerns for the past few years and we would like to contribute towards alleviating them. As part of our CSR program, OYO REACH, we are happy to assist in the adoption of rainwater harvesting systems in OYOs in Shimla.

“Since tourism has been one of the most important contributors in boosting the state’s economy, adoption of such techniques will not only help Shimla regain its stature as the most preferred hill station, but also promote sustainable tourism practices across the hotel industry”.
