Marriott International has added the first Paris property under its Autograph Collection.

Hotel Banke is housed behind a French Belle Epoque façade on the corner of Rue La Fayette and Rue Pillet in the Opera district of the capital.

The building was once home to the headquarters of Credit Commercial de France, and the five-star hotel features 91 rooms and suites, as well French-Indochina restaurant The Josefin, cocktail venue Le Bar, a fitness centre, and six meeting spaces including the Salle des Coffres which still houses 460 of the former bank’s vaults.

Hotel Banke joins Boscolo Exedra Nice, Hotel de Bourgtheroulde in Rouen, and L’Hermitage Gantois in Lille as the fourth Autograph Collection property in France.

Marriott recently announced plans to open 12 Autograph Collection hotels throughout Europe, increasing the brand’s portfolio in the region by around 25 per cent.

Among those new additions include The Shelbourne in Dublin, and Hotel Querencia de Seville, situated in the city’s Old Town.

The group added two Autograph Collection properties in London last year – for reviews of these hotels see:
