A hotel at Zurich Airport is set to become the second European location for the upscale Radisson Hotel brand.

Formerly part of Radisson Hotel Group’s mid-market Park Inn, the 211-room property has had a complete refurbishment in order to covert to the new brand, which will launch under its new name this week. The property remained open during the renovation.

The hotel features ten conference rooms, a gym and Italian restaurant Bocca Buona. A shuttle to the airport takes seven minutes, while central Zurich is a 20-minute train ride away.

Radisson Hotel Group also has a Radisson Blu within Zurich Airport. Europe’s other Radisson Hotel is in Gdansk.

The US-based company is spending £52m to boost growth in central and southern Europe.

This year has seen a Radisson Blu open in the Swiss Alps, a Radisson Collection open in Warsaw and Radisson Blu and Radisson Residences open in Istanbul.

Renovations have been completed at its hotels in Frankfurt and Cologne, while Radisson Blus in Basel and Milan are also getting redesigns.

A 250-room Radisson Blu in Geneva is scheduled to open in 2022, and a Radisson Collection has been signed in Paris.

The group also recently announced six projects in the Americas, with properties joining its Radisson Red, Radisson Blu, Radisson and Country Inn and Suites by Radisson brands over the next three years.
