Singapore Airlines is to deploy its Airbus A350-900 medium haul aircraft on Kolkata-Singapore route. The inaugural flight SQ517 will depart from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport at 2350 hrs on June 3, 2019.
Airbus A350-900 is fitted with new regional Business Class and Economy Class cabin products — The Business class has 40 seats in the configuration of 1-2-1, and the Economy class cabin has 263 seats in the configuration of 3-3-3.
Manufactured by Stelia Aerospace, the Business class seats can recline directly into a 76” fully-flat bed, and comes with amenities such as ample stowage space, a business panel with in-seat power supply and USB ports, an integrated reading light unit with adjustable lighting intensity and a personal 17” full high-definition touchscreen monitor.
The Economy class seats are designed by RECARO — the seats come with ergonomically-designed contour backrest and a six-way adjustable headrest with foldable wings. Storage space for small personal items, a coat hook, USB port, and in-seat power supply are some other features of the Economy Class seats.
The aircraft has the latest Thales AVANT inflight entertainment system, designed with new user interface. Passengers will have access to Singapore Airlines’ myKrisWorld and its selection of more than 1,800 movies, TV shows, audio programmes and games with even greater flexibility.

Singapore Airlines’ latest regional cabin products combined with our award-winning inflight service will provide our Eastern India travellers enhanced comfort and unparalleled travel experience.”
The aircraft will operate a daily service from June 3 to June 8, 2019. From 10 June 2019, Singapore Airlines will operate four weekly services on the aircraft type.
