SpiceJet is to launch new international flights, connecting Mumbai with destinations such as Hong Kong, Jeddah, Dubai, Colombo, Riyadh, Dhaka, and Kathmandu. The new flights are scheduled to start from May end. The airline will be deploying its Boeing 737 NG aircraft on these routes.

Last week, SpiceJet announced direct service between Mumbai and Bangkok. Furthermore, the low-cost carrier aims to increase frequency on its Mumbai-Dubai route.

Commenting on this new launch, Ajay Singh, Chairman, and Managing Director, Spicejet said, “We are delighted to connect a large number of popular international destinations from Mumbai, a city that has always been a key and integral part of our network.

“SpiceJet will be the only Indian budget carrier operating on a majority of routes that we have announced today thus providing leisure and business travellers with more options to choose from.”

Off lately, Indian domestic carriers are focussing on strengthening Mumbai as their key travel hub — Along with SpiceJet, IndiGo is also seen expanding its network in Mumbai. The airline is launching flights on Mumbai-Jeddah, Mumbai-Abu Dhabi and Mumbai- Dammam route.
