Marriott International has opened the 800th hotel under its extended stay Residence Inn brand, located in Calgary’s Beltline district.
The Residence Inn Calgary Downtown / Beltline District is also the brand’s largest ever property at 390 rooms.
Interior design elements have been inspired by the Alberta Boot Company, the headquarters of which was previously on the site of the hotel, with floor-to-ceiling murals and cowboy boot stitching incorporated into bed headboards.
Studios and one-bedroom suites feature fully-equipped kitchens, and facilities include complimentary hot breakfast, a 24-hour market, laundry room, fitness centre, Lounge and Terrace restaurant, and a lobby wine bar which is due to open soon.
There is also 6,500 square feet of meeting space, accommodating groups up to 175 people.
Commenting on the opening Don Cleary, President of Marriott International in Canada, said:
“Stampede City is the perfect place for Marriott International to debut its 800th Residence Inn hotel, the largest Residence Inn in the world, and a flagship property for the brand.
“Calgary is a key market for extended-stay travel and we are delighted to launch the city’s third Residence Inn, widening the accommodation options available to business travelers whilst also putting Calgary’s most popular cultural attractions within easy reach of our long-stay leisure guests.”
