Radisson Hotel Group is to open two new properties in Makkah, Saudi Arabia — the Radisson Hotel, Makkah Al Rahma and the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel, Makkah Al Rahma. Following this, the hospitality group’s portfolio has increased to 43 and more than 10,000 rooms in operation and under development.

Radisson has collaborated with real-estate development company Al-Rajhi Investments for both the properties that are expected to open in the second quarter of 2021.

Both hotels will be located in the Mahbas Al-Jin district of Makkah. The Radisson Hotel, Makkah Al Rahma will feature 190 guestrooms, an all-day dining restaurant serving local and international cuisine, a meeting room and fitness centre.

150-key Park Inn by Radisson Hotel, Makkah Al Rahma will also have an all dining outlet, meeting room, and recreational amenities.

The launch of these new properties will further boost Saudi Arabia’s religious tourism, which one of the key aspects of the country’s Vision 2030.

A significant rise in hotel room inventory is being noticed in Saudi Arabia, especially Makkah — Hyatt will launch a Hyatt Centric branded property (in Makkah) by 2023 and Indian Hotels Company is also debuting in the region in 2023.

Elie Younes, Executive Vice President, and Chief Development Officer, Radisson Hotel Group, said “We are pleased to strengthen our relationship with our esteemed partner Al-Rajhi Investments with the addition of two new hotels in Makkah.

“Through Vision 2030, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to make significant investments in mega projects to enhance its infrastructure and accessibility. The country remains a focus market for our growth which we are committed to deliver with our local partners.”
