Hyatt Hotels Corporation is to launch a new Hyatt Centric property in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The hospitality chain has collaborated with Jabal Omar Development Company for this project which is set to open in 2023.

Jabal Omar Hyatt Centric Makkah Hotel and Residences will be in close proximity to the Grand Mosque of Makkah, thereby catering to the religious tourism boom in the region.

The hotel will feature 196 guestrooms and suites as well as 200 residences equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

Peter Fulton, Group President, Europe, Africa, Middle East, and Southwest Asia, Hyatt said, “We are honored to work together again with Jabal Omar Development Company on the second Hyatt hotel in the holy city of Makkah.

“Together, we hope to strive towards the Kingdom’s goal to attract more than 30 million tourists by 2030. The Jabal Omar Hyatt Centric Makkah is being designed to accommodate the unique needs of both visitors and pilgrims and will offer a contemporary hospitality experience connecting guests to the heart of this cultural and religious destination.”

Hyatt is on an aggressive expansion path in Saudi Arabia — Last December, the hospitality chain opened Hyatt Place Riyadh Al Sulaimania in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and this year the brand opened Hyatt House Jeddah Sari Street.
