Flybe has confirmed it is to end its partnership with Avios at the end of April.

Customers will no longer be able to earn Avios on flights taken on or after April 30 (even if they have already been booked), and will also no longer be able to redeem Avios on Flybe flights from this date.

Award flights which have already been redeemed for travel after April 30 will remain valid, but customers will not be able to make any changes to them after April 30.

Note that Flybe also says that customers are not able to cancel existing bookings on the basis that they won’t receive Avios, as “no longer collecting Avios is not an eligible reason for cancelling a booking”.

Customers with unspent Avios which are not going to be used by April 30, have the option of moving them over to a British Airways Executive Club account, using the Combine My Avios functionality.

Flybe has partnered with Avios since 2014, when it replaced its former Rewards4All frequent flyer programme.

The move to end the partnership is a result of the pending sale of Flybe to Connect Airways, a consortium formed by Stobart Group, Virgin Atlantic and Cyprus Capital Partners.

Flybe says that “A Loyalty programme is very much part of Flybe’s plans and we are actively working on an exciting new programme which will be announced shortly”.
