Tickets are now on sale for Eurostar’s third daily London-Amsterdam service, which will start in June.

The route, which also stops in Rotterdam, has proven popular since it launched last April.

The new service starts June 11, 2019 and, as expected, fills the gap between the morning and evening service.

It will depart London at 1104 and arrive in Amsterdam at 1611, making the Eurostar a more appealing option for UK residents based outside of the capital.

The return will leave Amsterdam at 1346 and arrive in Brussels at 1535, where passengers currently have to disembark for passport and security checks and connect onto another service to London.

Meanwhile the first daily service will be brought forward by 75 minutes to leave at 0716, arriving in Amsterdam at 1211 – an attractive change for business travellers (and early birds).

Eurostar has emphasised the environmental benefits of high-speed rail over flying, saying it uses 80 per cent less carbon per passenger than a flight.

“Our new route to the Netherlands has been met with strong demand from our customers, who increasingly value the ease, comfort and seamless experience of high-speed rail,” said Eurostar CEO Mike Cooper.

“A third train each day will boost capacity whilst offering more choice and flexibility to travellers connecting between these European cities.”

Fares start at £35 one way.
