Japanese carrier ANA is all set to launch its upcoming non-stop Airbus A380-operated flights between Tokyo Narita and Honolulu on May 24 this year, with the carrier recently announcing the schedule and fares for the new service.

The service will operate at a reduced frequency for the first month of operation, during which it will only be flying the first of its three unique “Flying Honu” sea turtle liveried A380s.

From May 24 until June 30, flights NH184 and NH183 will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays only, before increasing to a daily service from July 1 onwards. July 1 will also see the addition of the thrice-weekly NH182 and NH181 flights on the same route, also operating on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, at which point ANA’s Tokyo-Honolulu route will operate as a 10-times-weekly service.

ANA’s A380s feature four classes of travel, with new seats in first class, business class, premium economy and economy. The economy class cabin will also feature ANA Couchii seats that allow passengers to lie across them.

Business Traveller Asia-Pacific previously took an in-depth look at the seat products across all four classes.

Tickets in first class and ANA Couchii seats will be going on sale on January 10 at 3pm (GMT+9). Passengers who have already purchased tickets in business, premium economy and economy will be notified today (January 4) that they will be travelling on the new A380.

ANA also plans to run a campaign from May 24 until July 11 that includes discounts of up to 50 per cent on ANA Couchii seats, along with giving ANA Mileage Club members unlimited access to available premium economy and economy seats for booking award tickets. One out of every 100 members booking premium economy and economy award tickets will also get back all miles spent on their award ticket purchase, for flights departing between May 24 and July 11.

Round-trip first class fares start at 350,000 yen (US$3,244) not including taxes and surcharges. ANA Mileage Club members can also redeem first class award tickets for 120,000 miles in the low and regular season, and for 129,000 miles during the high season.

In November, ANA unveiled the amenities and menus that passengers can expect to receive on the new Hawaii-bound A380 flights.

Meanwhile, the first of ANA’s three A380s rolled out of the paint shop in mid-December last year.
