Virgin Atlantic has signed a new codeshare deal with Aeromexico, allowing customers to books flights between Heathrow and Mexico City via virginatlantic.com.

Codeshare connections are also now available on selected domestic Aeromexico routes from Mexico City, and customers can also opt to connect through New York JFK, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Orlando.

Commenting on the news Shai Weiss, chief commercial officer at Virgin Atlantic, said:

“We’re committed to working with the best airline partners around the world, and I’m delighted to add Aeroméxico to our growing portfolio.

“This new partnership complements the existing connections our partner Delta offers and provides even more Mexican destinations for our customers.

“Not only this, but travellers will experience the ease and convenience of booking through a codeshare.”

Aeromexico is a founder member of the Skyteam alliance along with Air France and Delta, so the codeshare makes sense as Air France-KLM is set to take a 31 per cent stake in Virgin Atlantic, while Delta has a 49 per cent share in the carrier.
