Emirates has unveiled a new lounge at Rome Fiumicino airport, located on level 2 within Terminal 3, close to gates E22-E24.
The facility replaces the carrier’s previous lounge at the airport, which was located after passport control within the airside transit area.
Emirates said that the 950 sqm lounge “is now located in a more convenient area of the airport terminal”, and offers a direct boarding facility onto the aircraft.
There is seating for 162 guests, with views over the runway, leather armchairs, a choice of formal and relaxed seating, a dining area, prayer room, shower facilities, a business centre, and a hot and cold buffet.
The lounge is open to the carrier’s first and business class customers, as well as Skywards Platinum and Gold members, while Silver and Blue members can pay to enter.
Commenting on the news Mohammed Mattar, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President, Airport Services, said:
“The new lounge represents an investment of over USD 4.5 million by Emirates, and is an integral part of our focus to provide our premium and loyal customers with the highest levels of comfort and convenience, not just in the air, but also on the ground.
“The new Rome airport lounge brings to 42 the number of Emirates’ lounges, making it one of the largest airline networks of lounges across the world, and we’ll continue to open new ones and refurbish others.”
Emirates operates twice daily flights to Rome, along with three daily services to Milan, and daily flights to Venice and Bologna.
