Marriott has officially opened its second Luxury Collection property in the French capital.
Hotel de Berri, a Luxury Collection Hotel, is located on Rue de Berri, a couple of minutes’ walk from the Champs Elysees.
Business Traveller was at the grand opening of the hotel, and has published a Tried and Tested review here.
The property features a façade by architect and city planner Maurice Novarina, which designer Philippe Renaud said gave way to “a magical interior full of aesthetic paradoxes”. Design elements include “vibrant colours, detailed parchments, ancient Chinese furniture, wrought-iron lamps, sketches and paintings”.
A total of 35 of the hotel’s 75 rooms fall under the suite category, with room features including marble bathrooms with under floor heating, Apple TV with Netflix, and free wifi.
Hotel facilities include Italian restaurant Le Schiap, cocktail bar Le Bizazz, and 3,000 sqm of landscaped gardens.
The property also features 40 vintage fireplaces, and a Sculpture Room including examples from the castings workshop at the Louvre.
Commenting on the opening Anthony Ingham, Global Brand Leader, The Luxury Collection, said:
“As one of the world’s most desirable destinations, Paris continues to be the global epicentre of art, culture, gastronomy and fashion.
“Hotel de Berri embodies sophistication and glamour, and opens doors to exceptional cultural offerings, for which The Luxury Collection is known. We are thrilled to welcome global explorers to enjoy a truly indigenous Parisian experience.”
Hotel de berry joins Prince de Galles, a Luxury Collection Hotel, as the second property under the brand in the French capital.
Formerly part of Starwood Hotels and Resorts, the brand sits in Marriott’s luxury portfolio alongside Ritz-Carlton, St Regis, JW Marriott, Bulgari, W and Edition Hotels.
