Passengers in business class cabin Delta One can now order their meal prior to flying, ensuring their first-choice option will be available on board.

Today’s roll-out follows a launch on select flights that began in June and expanded in September. Delta said the service had proven hugely popular.

It will be available on all outbound and inbound Delta One routes travelling between the US and Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and South America, and some long-haul domestic routes.

Passengers receive an email three days before flying asking them to select their meal.

Delta One menus rotate seasonally, vary by destination and are regionally-inspired.

This winter’s menu includes braised beef short rib, roasted chicken breast and soy-glazed cod.

Select European destination menus will feature creations by Linton Hopkins out of Atlanta, Danny Meyer’s Union Square Events out of New York, and chef duo Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo out of LA.

The wine list is curated by Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson and includes Oyster Bay Pinot Noir.

“Customer feedback plays a vital role in the development of our culinary offerings,” said Lisa Bauer, Delta’s Vice President, On-Board Services.

“We know that customers value having control over their in-flight experience. Through the pre-select meal program, we’re giving customers the peace of mind that their first meal choice is available on board.”
