Members of rewards programme Asia Miles will receive 50 per cent more miles when converting points from 12 hotel loyalty programmes before January 31, 2019.

Asia Miles convert at different rates depending on the hotel loyalty programme. Some, such as Hilton Honors and Best Western, also only allow members to convert their points to Asia Miles in batches of a certain minimum size.

Conversion rates for each of the 12 hotel loyalty programmes eligible for the 50 per cent Asia Miles bonus are:

Hotel Group Hotel Loyalty Programme Minimum hotel points required to convert Regular number of miles earned Number of miles earned after bonus

Members of multiple hotel rewards programmes can also convert their points from more than one programme and get 50 per cent additional Asia Miles each time.

Unfortunately, the 50 per cent bonus does not extend to Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest. Members of those programmes will continue to convert points to miles at their existing rate of three Marriott Rewards points to one Asia Mile.

Asia Miles is the rewards programme for Hong Kong carriers Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon. Earlier this year, the scheme underwent a major overhaul that saw earning and redeeming miles on short-haul flights enhanced, while redemptions for long-haul premium cabin seats were made more expensive.
